South Dakota Pheasant Hunting on the Tallgrass Prairie! Our hunting establishment offers the outdoor enthusiast the extraordinary and renowned South Dakota pheasant hunting experience. We OWN and operate 1,600+ acres near Miller South Dakota, 900 acres is restored to Tall Native warm season grasses - providing unparalleled South Dakota pheasant hunting on the Tall Grass Prairie of the Northern plains. This is beyond doubt, upland hunting at its finest! Planned and managed specifically for pheasant production, our land provides the best natural habitat imaginable. This land is available for short term or long term season lease. We do NOT plant pen raised birds! These are wild pheasants, and the hunts are tactical and you will see hundreds of pheasants a day. Yes you will hunt sloughs and food plots of corn, milo, cane, and sunflowers, but the most impressive hunting habitat is the vast areas of native and restored tall grass prairie - Switchgrass, Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Wheatgrasses and many other native grasses and plants that make up the majority of the 1,600+ acres here at FOWLPlay. By some estimates, there is now only 3% of the original native tall grass prairie remaining in the United States. Almost all have given way to the plow. Now, only small isolated areas of South and North Dakota and Kansas still have pockets of virgin tallgrass prairie. Imagine years ago, this entire region was literally an ocean of tall grasses as far as the eye could see. The buffalo roamed and the prairie chicken and sharptailed grouse followed. In 1898 came the Ringneck Pheasants! That is why FOWLPlay is here today!! South Dakota pheasant hunting has a long and rich history. Come out and see for yourself what makes this area special. |
